Ancient Studies workshop on Comparative Approaches to Language Learning in the Premodern World, organized by Irene Peirano Garrison, Celine Debourse, Joe Glynias and Ivy Livingston

 There will be two paired comparative talks on issues of multilingualism and indigeneity from two fabulous scholars:

Matylda Figlerowicz, Assistant Professor of Comparative Literature will speak about "After Malinche’s Babel: The Perception of Nahuatl’s Temporality in Language Pedagogy"

Victoria Almansa-Villatoro, Junior Research Fellow, Harvard Society of Fellows, will talk about:

“Beyond Hieroglyphs: Standardization, Dialects, and Literacy in ancient Egypt (c. 2600-2200 BCE)” 

There will be plenty of time for discussion and conversation. If you have already answered the survey about lunch, there will be food waiting for you. Everyone is most welcome.
