Yitian Li works on the intellectual and social history of early modern China. Her dissertation focuses on statecraft theories and practice from a local perspective during the Southern Song, the Yuan, and the early Ming dynasties. She is also broadly interested in the world of knowledge in early modern East Asia. She holds a B.A. and a M.A. in History from Tsinghua University.
