Kentigwern Jaouen is a PhD candidate at the University of Southern Brittany in Maritime History. He Complted a Masters degree on Piracy at the end of the Middle Ages in Brittany and his work now focuses on the Development of the Navies in France from 1461 to the death of Francis the First. His work is concerned with the new aspectq of naval warfare and the mutation of the fleets, with archeology, economic and social aspects. He is currently involved in several experimental sailing projects.
