Elizabeth received her BA in Classics and English from the University of Oxford before joining Harvard’s English Department as a graduate student in 2023. Elizabeth’s research often focuses on early-modern classical reception. She is particularly interested in identifying figures from the classical world who do not conform to the strict schemas of gender and sexuality that we find elsewhere in ancient sources and analysing how such figures have been reanimated in their reception by early-modern writers. She is also interested in 20th and 21st century classical reception, particularly in queer and post-colonial contexts.
