“'Many Ciphers, Although But One for Meaning': Lady Mary Wroth’s Many-Sided Monogram"

This paper proposes a reinterpretation of Mary Wroth’s monogram based on my recent discovery of the second extant volume from Wroth’s personal library: an early seventeenth-century edition of Xenophon’s Cyrvpaedia bearing the same monogram as that found on the Penshurst autograph manuscript of Loves Victorie.
