Celebrating French Women Writers: A conference to launch the two-volume publication of Femmes et littérature. Une histoire culturelle (Éditions Gallimard)

This two-volume publication (1600 pages) explores the continuity of women’s writing in French (in France and francophone countries) from the Middle Ages to today. It constitutes the first study of its kind in breadth and depth written by French and American scholars.

Sponsors for the conference include the Bacon Funds and the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures, The France and the World Seminar (Mahindra Humanities Center), Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies, all of Harvard University, and with the support of Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the United States.
